we used a motorola bluetooth headset. it samples audio at 8khz. in order to get the sound into max/msp or from max/msp out to the headset, one needs to first upgrade the mac os x (10.3) bluetooth firmware to v1.2+ and then update the bluetooth utilities to v1.5+. this allows you to setup a bluetooth headset which comes with its own core audio driver. you can now choose the driver from the max dsp pannel. because of the different sampling rate, both input and output need to go to the headset. a workaround if you want to output to speakers, is to use an application such as audiohijack or soundflower to capture the headset input and then route it to max msp running the standard core audio driver.
